Monday, Oct. 1, 2018, there will be an information session to introduce students to the “Oral History/Historical Research” research project. Students will learn how to conduct research in a meaningful way. The research will focus on the history of the Cambria Heights community. During the 2nd session, participants will receive a researcher’s manual to guide their research projects. The following meetings will focus on production and presentation of research. The research workshop is in partnership with students from St. John’s University, Dr. Silva’s academic in-service learning course. Undergraduate students will work collaboratively with teens to complete historical research. Students participating in the program will learn essential skills for documenting and preserving local community histories through a series of workshops.
