AP Psychology is an introductory course in the study of human behavior and mental processes. In this course students will learn to think like a psychologist as they become critical evaluators of psychological research. Topics of study cover the history and evolution of the field of psychology through eight psychological perspectives: Biological, Psychoanalytic, Behavioral, Humanistic, Cognitive, Social, Evolutionary, and Abnormal. Students will study the major contributors, key theories, research methods, therapies, and criticisms of each psychological perspective. Throughout this course, students will draw connections between their own lives and the psychological theories they are learning in order to better understand their own thoughts, behaviors, and interactions with people and the world around them.
