The New York (i.e. Manhattan) Chapter of the New York State Society of Professional Engineers (NYSSPE) is awarding a monetary “Scholar Award” to a high school senior who either is a resident of Manhattan or goes to school in Manhattan, and who also intends to study engineering in college. A second annual award, the “SEAP Scholarship,” is also bestowed by NYSSPE. It is given on behalf of the Society of Engineering and Architectural Professionals. This is open to a high school senior who is either a resident of New York City or goes to school in the City, and who also intends to study engineering in college.
Selections for both are based on:
Recommendation by the student’s guidance counselor, and
An essay written by the student on the contribution he/she hopes to make in society as an engineer.
Each selected winner and his/her parents/guardians will be invited as guests to attend our June dinner during which the scholarships will be presented. The same application can be provided for both awards (i.e. only one submission is necessary per student).
Please go to Ms. Gonzalez in Room 217 to receive your application. Applications must be received by March 29th, 2019. An email confirmation will be sent to you when the application is received.
