Peer Pressure

By: Alexandra Aghedo

What is peer pressure? Peer pressure is influence from friends or members of a group. It is not always a bad thing- it has its positive and negatives. Peer pressure mostly occurs among teens and involves doing things just to be accepted by one’s friends. Positive examples of peer pressure include being motivated to join extracurricular activities by your friends or get high grades. On the other hand, negative examples include being pressured into smoking or using alcohol. Some kids just want to do it to fit in, which is not right. Just be yourself and know what is right and wrong.
