There are both disadvantages and advantages associated with graduating high school early. Consider that students who graduate early can go to college earlier but miss out on fun senior events. By graduating early, students can be challenged academically, receive a head start on college, and obtain more opportunities for scholarships. For example, athletic students who graduate early can join college teams. Students looking to work can start earning money at a younger age.
On the other hand, students who graduate early may not be mature enough to succeed in college. They cannot celebrate graduation with their classmates or attend prom or sports events with their friends. In conclusion, students presented with the opportunity to graduate early should consider all options with their parents and guidance counselors. They need to make the most informed decision for themselves.
