After watching the movie Turning Red, please answer the following questions (in 2-3 sentences) and submit!

In your groups - work together to create a safe alternative to smoking tobacco.

1.  What would be your safe alternative?
2.  Who would use this product (age group/gender)?
3. Where would you sell this product?
4.  How much would it cost?
5.  How would you market this product (TV, radio, social media)?
6. Why should I buy your product?
7.  What would the packaging look like?
8.  What are the ingredients? Would it contain nicotine?

Feel free to add any additional information you think would be necessary to sell your product!

We know smoking is bad for our health...but what happens to our bodies when we quit smoking?
Write a letter to a friend/family member who has been a chronic smoker. Make sure to include reasons why they should quit, the benefits of quitting, and any other information you think that person should know.
Please make sure the letter is a "letter", this is not the same as writing a paragraph. Inc. - Dear, From, etc.

How does the media portray alcohol?
Today we will be discussing in class, alcohol advertisements - what are they trying to show us? Does television alcohol ads differ from print ads?
What makes you stop and look at an ad? What factors make the ad geared more toward a certain gender?


Please use your class time today to borrow one of the many print ads in class to create your own alcohol ad - using canvas, google slides or the platform of your choice.  THE ONLY DIFFERENCE --- your ad should show the NEGATIVE effects of alcohol, not the glamourous  side.

We will watch the attached video during class time.  We are only watching the part about Christine.

After watching Super Size Me 2 - Please construct a well-thought out typed PAGE (at least 3 paragraph) about your impressions of the documentary. What shocked you? What interested you? What do you want to know more about? Did it change the way you eat? Will you still eat at fast food restaurants? Are you concerned about the USDA and how they "police" food companies?

Today, we will look over the website www.myplate.gov, and discuss dietary guidelines that are important to sustain a healthy lifestyle.

After reviewing the handout, preventing food poisoning, please create an advertisement using flip grip, canva, or a website of your choice to help show 1 or 2 ways to prevent food poisoning.
