Due:
Please write down the name & title of the person you will be interviewing. If it is a group/organization that you are contacting, provide their information (Telephone Number/E-mail Address)
Due:
Find a Youtube Video that relates to the community need you selected. Make notes in Edpuzzle to summarize the video and the main theme.
Due:
Utilize the template provided to create a Research Plan around a need in your community. Is there a lot of poverty in your area? Are people not getting enough food or education? Select a need from your own personal experience OR use the ideas from the OneNYC 2050 plan.
Before conducting research, you will plan out how you will find this information. To do so, you will use the MISO method of Research:
M - Media: What media sources will you use to find information? (internet, newspapers, etc...)
I - Interview: Who can you interview about this issue and what will you ask them?
S - Survey: What questions could you ask the community to find out more information?
O - Observations: Where and what will you observe to gain a better perspective on the issue?
NOTE: You are not conducting research yet. You are planning out your strategy for research.

2. Brainstorm ideas on what you could design to solve the causes of the problems you noticed
3. Choose how you will design your solution and explain your solution.
The options for presenting your design are:

Due:
Using Minecraft, you will design and build a solution that supports sustainable communities and reduces inequities for everyone. You will accomplish this by solving a real-world problem (ending poverty, equal education, climate change, etc...). Once you have designed your solution, you will record a 1 minute 30 second Flipgrid video explaining the purpose of your creation. The Flipgrid submissions will be judged based on the provide rubric, and the students with the best designs will be selected to compete in a Live E-Sports Competition.
This assignment will be counted as EXTRA CREDIT for SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENTS. If you wish, you may record you design and share with me before the due date for feedback.

Due:
In this activity, you will graph and analyze worldwide energy production historically and its effect on the accumulation of carbon dioxide in the Earth’s atmosphere. You will access statistics from 1751 continuing to the near-present. The data will also track the history of technology as humans have proceeded from a mostly coal-burning economy to one exploiting all types of fossil fuels.
Your goal is to create a graph using Google Sheets that shows the change in CO2 emissions from Natural Gas, Oil, and Coal from 1842 to the near present.

Data was derived by a computer model using satellite imagery.
Please answer the following questions:
What do you notice?
What do you wonder?
How does this affect you and your community?
What is the main idea of this graph? Write a catchy headline.
