NX Support Assignments

Read one of the two articles attached to this post based on your interest in the topics. Then, create a response in which you clearly and accurately communicate the central idea of the article. You can respond by creating an essay (3 paragraphs), multimedia (Google Slides), or audio (podcast) presentation.


Note: For a higher score, you may choose to compare a similar or shared central idea that is present in both articles :)

Step 1 (graphic organizer): Fill out the "Central Ideas in Literature Graphic Organizer" to organize your thoughts about your chosen work of literature (feel free to use the screen play "A Raisin in the Sun" attached below). Please complete this AFTER you have finished with the reading.

Step 2 (project): Complete either a 3-4 paragraph written response OR select one of the alternate project ideas from the attached list. Whichever option you choose, the goal of this project is for you to demonstrate, using carefully selected evidence, how one or more important central ideas develop over the course of your chosen work.

All responses will be scored out of 10 using the rubric here :)

You will present an argument on the topic, "Does the Internet have a negative impact on our thinking process?" based on the 4 texts provided.
First you will complete a graphic organizer/template, then you will choose how to present your argument (please see the attached documents).

Your responses will be scored out of 6 using the attached rubric. You've got this!

You are encouraged to read this script (a play) by Lorraine Hanberry. After close reading and listening you will complete the graphic organizer for the annotated bibliography.
